しゅくだい (Homework)
Homework packet will be given on the first school day of the week and will be collected on the first school day of the next week. The packet is for the whole week so kids can plan and adjust the pace to finish homework (e.g. one page a day / two pages every other day /whole packet in one day, etc). Homework will not be a part of grade, but it is strongly encouraged to maximize the benefit of education. If your child didn't complete homework, he/she will be asked to finish during the recess on Day 2 and 5.
**CMS requires 30 minutes of "exercise" at school everyday. Technically speaking, since recess and P.E. are considered as "exercise", we don't have to have extra "exercise" (=recess) on the day that we have P.E. |
しゅくだいの先出し(sending homework ahead of time)
It has been a school policy at Waddell for many years that teachers are not required to put together packets of work when students are out for an extended absence. Providing this work to parents implies that the learning can be substituted for the teacher’s instruction in the classroom. Teachers have full administoratove support to delcine this request from parents. Students will be given an opportunity to receive appropriate instruction and be allowed to complete the work when they return to school.
