This year, I have decided to sing and dance for our class performance. The song I selected is called "Minna Tomodachi"(Everybody Friend). I chose this song because our class had issues with getting along each other in the past two quarters. So my goal is to bring the harmony back to the class and reunite every one of the student as we collaborate in the song. The lyrics have been sent home today so please ask your child the meaning and practice at home. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktKLaJkU3Yg Students will be asked to write kanji in a blank of sentence. Date: Tuesday, April 18, 2017 Time: 4:30pm- 7:30pm (Dinner@4:30, Program begins@ 5:45) Place: Auditorium at Waddell Language Academy Thank you very much for your cooperation!! April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The U.S Department of Health and Human Services reminds all of us that “strong, nurturing communities that are supportive of families can get involved and play a role in preventing child abuse and neglect and promoting child and family well-being.” Schools are an integral part of preventing child abuse and neglect.
During April, activities will be occurring across the district and community to promote awareness and help children know how, when, and where to reach out for assistance. You may see pinwheel gardens planted at school locations, receive brochures created by school counselors sharing their efforts, and hear your child speak about morning announcements used to increase school-wide awareness. CMS has designated April 6, 2017, as “Wear Blue Day” for child abuse awareness. You are invited to join with us on that day by wearing blue and sharing its meaning with your families and/or coworkers. Some activities will be shared via social media using two hashtags: #PassThePinwheel and #CMSPinwheel. Finally, all students in CMS will receive an age-appropriate lesson during April on the topic of harassment and bullying. The lesson will help students define harassment and bullying, practice their response to such actions, identify an adult to come to with any problem, and understand how to help someone else experiencing harassment and bullying. We appreciate your support as we work to keep all children safe both in school and in the community. For more information and suggestions on how to get involved go to Fayetteville, NC https://www.childwelfare.gov/topics/preventing/preventionmonth/ where resources are provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
